Addicted to My iPhone

I've come to the sad realization that I'm addicted to my iPhone. Not so much the phone itself, I rarely use it to actually (gasp), speak to someone. But for those dang apps that have taken partial control of my life have me feeling a bit saddened that I let it get to me.

Coming to terms about this addiction by blogging about it is probably going to help me get through this whatever step recovery. I doubt I can turn back and switch back to my ordinary Blackberry, I only got that for its easy qwerty keyboard that made life so much easier to text compared to the iPhone touch screen pad I curse at now and then for it's horrible predictive text.

Anyway, here's the lame stuff I catch myself doing before I even get out of bed to get started on my day:

1) check in on Foursquare to try and gain my reign back as the Mayor of the condo complex where my boyfriend & I live,
2) check my emails on my primary email account to see what Living Social, Groupon, Spotted Fox, Jack Grabbit, Google Offers, Yelp deal, etc is worth looking at for a possible purchase,
3) check my Facebook for any of those red colored notifications that I anxiously see what is liked, commented on or posted by those friends I subscribe to,
4) collect my bonus on that stupid, virtual Slottomania slot machine game. You'd think it was real money I was playing with, good thing it's not,
5) check the weather to see if it's a sandals or boots type of day,
6) check Words with Friends to see if it's my turn, or 'remind' the other player to put down some tiles,
7) sometimes check my bank account just to see if everything looks right,
8) check Yelp to see who got "Review of the Day" for San Diego (lol, I know, I know...crazy),
9) see if there's a "ding alert" from Southwest to see if there's a great deal for me to fly to/from San Diego to the Bay Area to visit family, and
10) CA Lottery to see if the "Daily 3" numbers would be a combination of family birthdays, anniversaries, etc that Mom might have bought numbers for

Such a random summary of stuff I check out, but it's something I need to work on as far as not letting it take control of my mornings...I've found myself getting out of bed later because of these delays!

Okay, that's all...I hope the list of apps doesn't get any longer!
